General dentistry is a dental specialty that focuses on all surfaces of teeth and oral tissues outside of the pulp, such as fillings and crowns. General dentists take care of patients’ teeth from their surfaces to their roots. They also provide preventive care and diagnosis, as well as treatment for toothaches and other oral problems.

Endodontic Procedures & Treatments

Root canal treatment is a dental procedure that removes infected tissue from the inside of a tooth. The procedure is usually done to save the tooth from extraction because root canal treatment can be done without removing the tooth.

Dental implants are surgically placed titanium posts that replace missing teeth. They are anchored into the jawbone and provide a stable foundation for artificial teeth.

Apicoectomy is a type of surgery to remove diseased tissue from the root tip, which may be due to an apical abscess, cyst, or other pathology. It can also be performed as part of a biopsy to diagnose cancerous cells in the periodontal ligament or bone around the tooth root.

Recognize Signs of a Root Canal Infection for Early Treatment

The signs of a root canal infection are pain that is worse when chewing or biting, swelling, redness, and tenderness at the tooth. If you have any of these symptoms, it is important to seek treatment as soon as possible.

Root canal infections are a serious dental condition that can lead to tooth loss if not treated quickly. The infection starts from the nerve inside the tooth and can travel to other parts of the mouth and jawbone. It’s important to recognize the signs because if left untreated, it may lead to an abscessed tooth which will require surgery.

Conclusion: Endodontics Dentistry and How It is Different from General Dentistry

Endodontics Dentistry is a branch of dentistry that deals with the study and treatment of teeth. It is different from general dentistry because it is more focused on root canal diagnosis and treatment.

The general dentist may recommend meeting with an endodontist if they find any problems during their examination. They will not be able to treat such conditions themselves, as this requires expertise in endodontics, which is why they will refer you for a root canal treatment.
